Students at the Dedman School of Hospitality at the Florida State University are gearing up for their 2nd annual “North Florida Wine & Food Festival” to be held September 8 th – 12th at the University Center Club. The week of hospitality will consist of dinner series, speakers, outings, and a grand wine and food tasting event showcasing more than 200 fine wines and delicacies from 25 area restaurants.
North Florida is filled with rich centers and sites that honor African American history. We all owe it to each other to understand what came before us, so we can move forward with a deeper resolve to make our world a better place. Here are a few great resources that I enjoy sharing with others:

It’s a tradition in our family to take a night and make the Tallahassee Christmas Light tour. The best thing about Christmas by far is the spirit of giving that constantly brings this community together whenever there is a need.Yes, Virginia, there are Christmas miracles as well, even here in Tallahassee, FL. On Christmas eve, a local family received a NEW Roof.
Driving back roads in Tallahassee you often smell the smoke from leaves burning, freshly mown fields, even boiled peanuts on the corners of the remote intersections just outside the city limits. I had to stop and get gas.. and that’s when I was reminded of what fall really smells like! Butts! Smokin’ Hot Butts! Boston pork butts that is!
