Don’t miss the Tallahassee Florida St. Patricks Day Parade in Downtown Tallahassee!

Green MeterSt Patrick’s Festival and Parade

Saturday, March 16, 2013

Celtic run at 10:30 am St Patrick’s parade from Macomb to Duval on College Ave at noon. Festival on Adams Street with live continual entertainment on the cultural stage from 1 pm until dusk including headline band Henri’s Notions, From soft finger-picked ballads to hard-driving jigs and reels, Henri’s Notions creates a musical mix of traditional Celtic and American music as well as their own compositions that have a rhythm and voice reflective of their Southern heritage, which lends a pleasing familiarity to the music. Food vendors and fun for the whole family.

While some are at the parade, this weekend is supposed to be beautiful and spring like, so many , including myself will be planting some flowers, getting ready for the spring and summer gardening season. Do you like to garden? Do you want to learn how to garden? How about starting a community garden!  Southwood now has a community garden, does your neighborhood have a place that a garden might work?  Check with the City of Tallahassee to see some guidelines and tips on beginning a community garden in your neighborhood! http://talgov.com/planning/planning-environ-gardening.aspx

Sondering where to buy your starter plants this year? Support our LOCAL businesses – take a ride to Tallahassee Nurseries, Native Nurseries, Espositos Lawn and Garden Center or check out the fruit trees at Just Fruit in Crawfordville, FL. Whatever you do, if you need help, just ask these local vendors, they are all so helpful and knowledgeable! Happy St. Patrick’s Day, have fun tomorrow and Go Green!

See you downtown!
