Dr. Nancy Smith-Fichter is an icon to most Tallahasseans! Dr. Fichter ran the FSU Dance Department for as long as I can remember. A dancer herself, she brought wonderful dancers to Florida State University and to the Tallahassee Community. Florida State University named the dance theater in her honor. I’ve had the pleasure to meet her, and to attend many events art this great venue!
I’ve seen many plays, dance events and my fondest memory was when I was a young child and attended my first opera at FSU with then Dean of the School of Music, David Wingate, our neighbor and friend. I was 10. It was only the start of my love for music.
Oct 22nd and 23rd is yet another event at FSU’s Dance Theater– “Glimpses of Another Side.”
