It’s that time! Christmas lights, lighten menorah’s, flickering candles in windows (hopefully the batter powered kind), and neighborhoods full of giddy kids and families. The Winter Festival Parade and Display of Lights Ceremony is Saturday, December 7th, 2013. Beginning with the Jingle Bell Run, music, street vendors and food trucks and stations, the parade of lighted floats, characters and people will begin filling North Monroe thru to W. Gaines Street, activities will wrap through the Chain Of Parks in Downtown Tallahassee and meandering over to the Children’s activity area in Kleman Plaza. Here’s a line-up of the events:

December 7, 2013 Festival of Lights in Tallahassee FL Schedule

3 p.m.  Registration for the Jingle Bell Run at the Capital City Bank parking lot located at the corner of Monroe Street and Tennessee Street. The fee is $20 on race day

6 p.m.  The lighting ceremony will occur on the Parade Judge’s Platform located on South Monroe Street at Bloxham Park.

6:15 p.m. the lights go on!  Immediately after, thousands of runners decked out in festive attire will take off on the Capital Health Plan 3K Jingle Bell Run. The course takes runners around downtown and completes where it began at Park Avenue and Monroe Street.

7:15 p.m. The City of Tallahassee Your Own Utilities Nighttime Holiday Parade marches down the road. The parade route runs along Monroe Street from Tennessee Street to Gaines Street.
