Be thankful, share and show your support

united states flagMemorial Day, celebrations of those serving and who have served, and memories of those who gave their lives and who bought our freedoms. It’s more than a day off, it’s not about politics, it’s really about doing the right thing and showing your patriotism.

Too many times we take for granted what we have here in the United States of America, or how we accomplished all that we have been able to. We forget about those who paved the way to our enjoyment of freedom of speech, of religion, of the right to land and home-ownership and of the right to all that we enjoy without fear of reprisals  from oppressive governments or terrorist factions in our country.

What can you do to thank a Veteran today? Here are 5 Simple Things You Can Do To Acknowledge Veterans on this most important holiday:

  1. Share a thought, a memory, a moment that you shared or spent with your family member or friend that made you reflect on just how proud you are to be an American. Call on a neighbor, a friend, a family member that has or is serving our country and say “Thank You”.” The simplest, most meaningful gesture of all!
  2. Prepare a care package for the recruiting office in your town, or for the Officers at the military reserve unit office closest to you.
  3. Write an open letter of thanks to your local paper, on a public blog or share on your social media profile. Tag your friends who have served and who you honor with your post.
  4. Eating out today? See a service person in the Airport while traveling? Going to a parade? Share a thank you, a hug, an American flag or share a meal with that person. It’s a random act of kindness and appreciation they will not soon forget.
  5. Fly your American Flag with pride. Whether on your home, your business, your car,or on your bike, proudly fly the American symbol of our freedom.

It’s easy, it’s American, and it’s our responsibility to be thankful. God Bless the United States of America and our Troops.

Realtors work with customers from all walks of life, all demographic backgrounds, and all nationalities. Personally, I have helped locate homes for Finding homes on the internet is one way that people first encounter their possible future homes. Despite all the videos with soothing music and professional staging, the experience of actually walking into a home is totally revealing to buyers. House-Hunting can be fun, it can be enlightening and it is a zen experience when a buyer finds their home!

Some buyers come to Realtors with expectations, with urgent needs and with high demands for attributes that can limit their home-finding possibilities. Savvy Realtors are helpful in opening the minds of these kinds of buyers, to calming concerns that zen-gardencan be remedied and in presenting options for homes that may not, at first, been homes of consideration for these buyers. Experienced Realtors are observing their customers during showings, listening to conversations, and engaging their customers to constantly understand their needs and desires. Realtors often work with multiple buyers at the same time, all with varied needs. The chance that while showing property to one buyer, they may see other homes that other buyers may be interested in is a strong possibility.

Communication, openness between a buyer and their Realtor is a fundamental element of house-hunting. If you can remain calm, if you can open yourself to trust your real estate professional, you may find the zen that allows you to look beyond your limitations and expectations. Realtors are not kidding when they say, “When you walk into the home that is right for you, you will “know” it.” They are true zen moments, no need for words, just the feeling of, “This is my home!”

Not All Million Dollar homes are alike!

When I heard of the price tag on Osama BinLaden’s home or hideout, whichever it was, I was grateful for the safe, secure and beautiful locations and designs of million dollar home in the United States!

Housing prices are at a 40 year lows, there’s a pretty good chance you will get much more for your money right here in the wonderful ole’ USA!  Tallahassee has gorgeous luxury homes, many with designer features, showing like model homes straight from a showcase floor. None that I know of have mattresses scattered on concrete floors with rubbish and week old food lying around.

Yards of most million dollar homes in Tallahassee, FL are well planned and professionally landscaped, void of any concrete walls and burning trash  piles.  While some of these million dollar homes are in gated communities, none that I am aware of, are surrounded by armed guards.

Best of all, most of these million dollar homes were built with love, and house families who enjoy the freedoms of enjoyment and the ability to move back and forth, in and around the community of  Tallahassee, Florida without fear for their safety. Tallahassee citizens are thankful to the armed forces that protect our country, for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, for the local civil service employees who protect our city, and to be a part of the pride of it’s citizens.
